Marketing Tips For Spas During The Summer Months

The summer months will change the pattern of the salon and spa business, so it is important to get creative and come up with interesting offers and events that will appeal to more clients and even catch the eye of new clients who have been watching you. Here is a list of ideas that will pertain to various styles of salon and spa businesses depending on your specialty. There is at least one great tip for every business and hopefully more to get you started for an exciting and busy summer!


Select your top 10% clients and give them gift cards that are personalized for them to give to whomever they want – such as a complimentary hand treatment or hydrating facial

Have hour and a half treatments on your menu more as a summer special such as “stay relaxed and refreshed longer with this special treatment offering”

Sell a series of treatments, when they purchase 4 their first one is free

Mother/Daughter specials for holidays and as a summer outing – make a day of it, have a special afternoon tea with petit fours

Girlfriend specials bring your best friend (give each a small gift for coming – petite drop of essence or cucumber spritz)

Announce a new innovative service (we have so many you could offer a new one several times a year) personalize and target a specific market such as acne

Remember every opportunity - announce a new aesthetician and promote her for the month and her specialty

Sell combined packages - example facial/massage/hand and feet treatment and include a light snack and beverage for the longer visits. Give a fresh flower as they leave that fits with the season, a daisy for summer, a mum for the fall, rose for the winter, and tulip in the spring

Group your technology together as a package such as microdermabrasion/oxygen/peel combo and give it a special title like “high tech skin care”

Market with posters - window displays – postcards – brochures

When you book an event call clients personally to invite – this is so important don’t just rely on invitations and mailers

Do events for groups such as real estate, teachers, nurses, stewardesses, etc.
